Greetings my friends and foes, I write this tonight with a heart heavy with stress and vulnerability, as I find myself in the uniquely bad position of having my mother, father and sister in the hospital at the same time. Mind you, two are in the same one and the other is close by, however it is definitely some Draftkings odds of this going down.
Running around and feeling at the opportunity to be the good son and brother, while comically trying to secure a service dog vest for my English Bullie in order to convince them to let me in with her to visit her grandparents, needless to say it hasn't been a fun 2026 so far.
Just in the midst of all the stress, and knowing that once again, it is good to be in the position to be there for the ones who there in the lean years, every moment not dedicated to thinking about them is for trying to locate temporary means of escape,
And then comes a text from Jose Varese,
The Shining Joker Cover, in Topless, Sexy and Mature, a simple play on an old Jack movie with the Batgirl behind the door doing her best Shelly Duval,
Your typical ploy to profit off nostalgia, the beauty of our business is pushing that what if scenario onto the cover of something interesting and making sure the numerology stamped on the front makes the necessary algorithm make the necessary attention,
But it's more than that grind, the way we make a living, that moment of joy, that rapier wit of looking at a cover and saying, Ha, Ha, I thought of that before anyone else and drew it, that is the kind of escapism I love, the kind we all share when watching Game of Thrones in its prime.
Right now I take the pages from the Spiderman Writing Class and feed them into the Revid AI Engine two a time -- some of the stuff I'm producing is amateur as fuck, but if you knew once again the joy it gives me seeing my fuckin Spiderman stories coming to life, then you are in the wrong business.
Thanks for listening to this diatribe, as sometimes all it takes is your man Varese sending an updated cover, which comes out as lovely as you want it to be.
Taking the story off the cover is what I feel will separate me from real technology driven filmmaking, and flashy nonsense you are currently seeing.
That being said, I hope you dig this new Joker and Batgirl Cover -- and I hope it gives you the absolute jolt it gave me --
